ABOUT US

Mr. William M. Allison is a Planning Consultant with Piedmont Land Approval Needs, LLC. William is a professional land planner who brings more than 33 years of experience in local government planning.

William began his planning career in 1986, with the Town of Boone, as the Town Planner and also served with the Town of Beech Mountain and the NCDOT.  Most recently, he completed 30 years of service with the Iredell County Planning Department in Statesville, where he served in a number of capacities, ranging from Planner I to Planning Director. During that time, he presented a variety of cases to multiple boards, regarding rezoning applications, variances, special use permits, subdivisions, along with an array of ordinance revisions, land-use updates and transportation matters. Additional duties he was instrumental in were long range planning, watershed administration, subdivision review and other planned related matters. In closing out his most recent years with the county and as the Senior Planner, he helped oversee the day-to-day operations within the department and served as a liaison amongst the different departments within the Building Standards facility.  Throughout his planning career he has always felt an obligation to both foster and facilitate relationships within the development community, the general public and related boards.  The experience and understanding he brings to the table would prove helpful with any project.

William received a BS Degree in Political Science from Appalachian State University, where he also completed graduate level work in Public Administration.  He is a member of both the North Carolina and National Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA).  He is also a licensed general contractor.
